I am a student living in Raleigh, North Carolina. I was born and raised in Raleigh, so naturally the city is a massive part of who I am. As I grew up, Raleigh was growing as a city. I was born at the turn of the century, and I do not believe many people in year 2000 could have predicted what Raleigh, and the world, would look like by year 2022. Alongside the rapid growth and emergence of modern types of networked communication, Raleigh has become a hub for forward thinking companies and people alike. As I embark on my career path, I look forward to witnessing Raleigh's continued growth, and to growing and evolving myself.
Education
North Carolina State University
I am studying Rhetoric and Professional Writing at NC State University and will graduate in the Spring of 2023. I started out at the university with the goal of studying marketing. Though Marketing is still an interest of mine, I felt Rhetoric and Professional Writing was more valuable to study. This is mostly because I envisioned myself focusing more on content design in general, as opposed to explicitly marketing.
Acknowledging my Positionality: With COVID-19 leaving its mark on the world over the past few years, I consider myself lucky to be in the position I am. The fact that I am able to be a full-time student, as the calamity of a pandemic takes its toll on so many, is nothing but a privilege. I am not unaware of this fact. Throughout my life and professional career, I plan on repaying what has been afforded to me in order for me to be where I am now.
Interests
Professional
My main career aspiration at this point in time is to work within the field of UX Design. My interest in crafting user experiences interests stems from my passion for solving problems. I want to do more than just help produce content or messaging for a company; I want to develope wholistic end-to-end user experiences that work to solve unique and complex problems. I have a capacity for empathy that allows me to tune into various viewpoints and perspectives when faced with multidimensional problems. This allows me to align more tightly and collaborate with others to ensure end products and solutions are the best they can be.
